In view of the flood situation in Jalandhar district of Punjab, the administration has taken a major decision. The Deputy Commissioner has issued an order directing the closure of 41 flood-affected government schools in the district till September 9 and 10.
This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the students and the conditions of the school complex. The administration says that the schools will be reopened once the situation normalizes.
Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Punjab and Himachal Pradesh tomorrow, where he will conduct an aerial survey of the flood and landslide affected areas and review the relief and rescue operations. The Prime Minister will reach Kangra at around 1:30 pm and after conducting an aerial survey of the flood affected areas, he will hold a high-level meeting with the officials.
During this, he will meet the affected people as well as the NDRF, SDRF and Aapda Mitra teams engaged in relief operations. After this, at 3 pm, he will conduct an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of Punjab and will reach Gurdaspur at 4:15 pm and hold a meeting with senior officials. In Gurdaspur too, he will interact with the flood-affected people and the teams engaged in relief and rescue operations. The administration has made tight security and arrangements for this visit of the Prime Minister.
