Jayaprakash Ranjan, New Delhi. Five days ago, President Donald Trump claimed that he talked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he is not in a good mood about China. India denied it. But on Tuesday, both the leaders also spoke on the telephone and there has been a lot of discussion on the ongoing border dispute with India-China. Earlier, there was a discussion between Modi and Trump on April 4, but then the agenda of the conversation was mainly limited to Kovid-19.

The agenda of talks between the two leaders on Tuesday was quite broad. From expanding the organization of Group-7 countries, to the violence that has erupted in many American cities, and all the options for major reforms in the World Health Organization (WHO), both have been discussed between the two countries. During a telephone call, President Trump stated his intention to expand the existing organization of Group-7 countries.

He told how the US wants other important countries including India to join it. Trump also invited PM Modi to join him while talking about holding a meeting of the new organization in September 2020. There are indications that PM Modi has accepted the invitation. Modi has welcomed the proposal as a visionary move.

The situation of Kovid-19 was also discussed

Modi said that such an organization would have its own importance given the importance of the post-Kovid-19 era. Modi said that India will be happy to make such an organization successful with the United States and other countries. It is evident that India has given its support. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that the situation of Kovid-19 in India and America was discussed between the two leaders as well as some other bilateral matters.

 India-China border dispute also arose

The issue of Indo-China border dispute also arose in the talks. This is a very important topic because the US President has twice mentioned the India-China border dispute last week. First he talked about interfering in it which China has rejected. He then claimed that PM Modi’s mood was bad about China. It is worth mentioning that there has been an atmosphere of tension between the forces of China and India for the past one month in Galvan region of eastern Ladakh. The number of soldiers is being increased continuously from both sides.

Support for each other is very important for Modi and Trump

This conversation on Tuesday shows how deep the relationship between India and America has become under the leadership of Modi and Trump. Trump is still entangled in domestic politics and he has to face the election a few months later. Despite this, he continues to value his relationship with India. On the other hand, Modi is also beset with problems like Corona, economic downturn and border dispute with China. In such a situation, it is very important for both of them to be with each other.

PM Modi ready to join G-7 organization

Trump has asked Russia, India, Australia and South Korea to be included in the G-7 organization. But so far he has only talked to the Indian PM. The intent of other member states is not yet clear. At the same time, the Indian PM has expressed that he is ready to join it. In such a situation, it will have to be seen that what other countries are involved in the new global platform under the leadership of Trump. It also raises the question whether the organization of the Group-20 countries that are going on at present is of little importance or remains.
