Yes, after one day i.e. from April 1, there is going to be a huge increase in the fees charged for non-immigrant American visa. Visa fees will increase by almost three times at once. This increase will be applicable to H-1B, L-1 and EB-5 visas. Along with this change, it is also expected that there may be changes in visa service in the coming days. The increase in fees may also have an impact on immigration policy and international relations before the upcoming presidential elections.

Visa fees increasing for eight years

Let us tell you that Indians coming to live in America mostly take H-1B, L-1 and EB-5 visas. This increase in fees is being made after about eight years. Earlier in 2016 the fees were increased. In the information given by America, it was said that after the increase for H-1B, L-1 and EB-5 visas, the new fees will be applicable from April 1. Information about this was already given in the notification issued by the Department of Homeland Security. The notification said that visa fees will increase due to fee adjustment and change in form by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

How much will the H1B visa fees increase?

If you want to apply for a new H-1B visa, then there is Form I-129 for this. Its fee is going to increase from 460 US dollars (USD) to 780 US dollars. If we talk in Indian currency, it will increase from Rs 38,000 to more than Rs 64,000. Apart from this, the H-1B registration fee will increase from US $ 10 (Rs 829) to $ 215 (about Rs 17,000) from the next financial year. Let us tell you that H-1B is a non-immigrant visa, which allows American companies to hire foreign workers. Technology companies rely on H1B visas to hire thousands of employees from India and China every year.

L-1 visa fee will be more than one lakh.

L-1 visa fee will increase three times from April 1. As of now it is 460 US dollars (about Rs 38,000). Which is expected to increase to 1385 US dollars (Rs 1,10,000) from April 1. L-1 comes under the non-immigrant visa category in America. It has been designed for transfer of employees working within the company. Through this, multinational companies allow some employees from their existing offices in other countries to work in America temporarily through transfer.

New fees for EB-5 visa:

The fees for EB-5 visa are also expected to increase three times. Currently, a fee of 3675 US dollars (about Rs 3 lakh) has to be paid for this. But it is expected to increase to 11160 US dollars (about Rs 9 lakh). EB-5 visa was started by the US Government in 1990. Under this, high-income foreign investors can get visas for their families by investing at least $5 lakh in American businesses. This business should be such that at least 10 Americans can get jobs.
