7th pay commission: Good news! Salary will soon increase from 26,000 to 96,000! View Calculations here

The minimum wage will be 26000. This can lead to an increase of Rs 96000 in the basic pay of government employees.


New Delhi, 7th Pay Commission. Central Government employees can get good news on Holi. The fitment factor can be increased in March next month.

According to media reports, the Modi government can increase the fitment factor of the employees in March. This will give a benefit of 8000 in the basic salary of the employees and the minimum salary will be 26000.

The salary will increase according to the different levels. However, there has been no confirmation or official statement from the government.

According to media reports, the Modi government at the Center may soon announce the fitment factor of central employees. Presently the fitment factor is 2.57 per cent and the employee associations have been continuously demanding to increase it.

According to sources, there has been a long discussion between the Modi government of the Center and the Employees’ Association regarding this matter and everything has been almost decided. It is believed that the fitment factor of central employees can be decided in the cabinet meeting after the elections.

According to media reports, the fitment factor can be increased from 2.57 percent to 3.68 percent. This will benefit about 52 lakh employees, along with increasing the fitment, there will also be a bumper increase in the minimum wages of central employees.

With this, there will be a benefit of 8000 in the basic salary of the employees and the minimum salary will be 26000.

Fitment factor increased in 2016

Earlier in 2016, the fitment factor was increased. Under this, the minimum basic pay of employees was increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 18,000. The employees got the benefit of 12000 directly.

If the fitment factor is increased by 3.68 hike in 2022, then there can be a direct increase of 8000 in the salary. Last year, the employees union had also met the Cabinet Secretary and he had also received an assurance that the Modi government is considering it.

Salary will increase due to fitment factor

  1. The basic salary of the employee is calculated by multiplying the fitment factor 2.57 of the 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission latest update). For example- If the basic salary of a central employee is Rs 18,000, then his salary excluding allowances will be 18,000 X 2.57 = Rs 46,260. Assuming the same 2.57 to be 3, then the salary will be 21,000X3 = Rs.63,000.
  2. If the fitment factor 3.68 hike is increased from 2.57 to 3.68, then the same salary will be Rs 95,680 (26000X3.68 = 95,680). This would mean an increase of Rs 49,420 in the overall salary of the employees.
  3. If the fitment factor 3 is 3 times from 2.57 per cent, then the basic pay of the employees will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 21,000, which means it will increase by Rs 3000. If the same happens to be 3.68 percent, then the salary will increase up to 96 thousand.
