6th Pay Commission: Big news for employees! New pay scale applicable from January, salary will increase in February, know details

6th Pay Commission. There is great news for the government employees of Himachal. The Himachal government has announced a new pay scale for the employees under the Sixth Pay Commission. This new pay scale will be implemented from January 1, 2016, which will be due in February 2022. At the same time, contract employees will now be regularized in 2 years in three years. Notification has been issued in this regard. With this decision, the salary of the employees will increase from 4 to 30 thousand.

Employees will get 28 percent Dearness Allowance in the new pay commission. The order of DA has been issued separately. With the new pay commission, the grade pay system and the Assured Career Progression Scheme of 4-9-14 will be abolished, but step up facility will be available. The same arrears will be available when the government decides, although other allowances including HRA-TA will continue to be available according to the previous pay commission. Notification has also been issued to give 28 percent dearness allowance to the employees. 28 percent DA will be given from July 1, 2021. It will be given along with the salary to be paid in February of the month of January.

According to media reports, under the new pay commission, there are two options one is 2.25 and the other is 2.59, under this, whether the employees want to apply the coefficient with the increment of 1-1-2016, this option will remain? For this, the employees have to fill the form and give it to the head office. If any clarification is required, it should be obtained from the Finance Department. The 21% IR already given will be adjusted during pay-fixation. In the new pay commission also, the increment will remain only three percent. The State Government will have the right to make any changes in these rules.


Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government is spending about 43% of its total budget on employees and pensioners. After the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission, it will increase to 50 percent. Revised pension and other pension benefits will also be given to all pensioners and family pensioners with effect from January 1, 2016.

According to media reports, if an officer and employee does not take advantage of the 2012 pay revision and takes benefits on the basis of 2009 rules, then his basic pay as on 31 December 2015 is Rs 55,040, then by applying factor 2.59, his salary will be around Rs 1,42,000. and other benefits will be included separately. If an employee wants to take advantage of the new pay scale on the basis of the year 2012 revision, then according to the first method, the basic salary is Rs 13,900 on the basis of the salary taken on 31st December 2015 and applying the factor 2.25 then this Multiplying will work out to around 31000 and other allowances will be included separately.
