Now they will be able to book tickets for 8 Vande Bharat trains up to just 15 minutes before reaching the station. Railways has made changes in its Passenger Reservation System (PRS) to provide this facility to railway passengers. The aim of this move of the Railways is to provide convenience to the passengers and streamline the booking for Vande Bharat Express trains at the stations en route without any hassle. According to the information given by the Railways, under the new rule, vacant seats in Vande Bharat trains will now be available for current booking at the stations along the way, which will greatly benefit the passengers and will also increase the number of passengers in the train.
Now booking possible up to 15 minutes in advance in these 8 Vande Bharat trains
- Train number 20631 – Mangaluru Central to Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express
- Train number 20632 – Thiruvananthapuram Central to Mangaluru Central Vande Bharat Express
- Train number 20627 – Chennai Egmore to Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express
- Train number 20628 – Nagercoil to Chennai Egmore Vande Bharat Express
- Train number 20642 – Coimbatore to Bengaluru Cantt. Vande Bharat Express
- Train number 20646 – Mangaluru Central to Madgaon Vande Bharat Express
- Train number 20671 – Madurai to Bengaluru Cantt. Vande Bharat Express
- Train number 20677 – Dr. MGR Chennai Central to Vijayawada Vande Bharat Express
144 Vande Bharat trains currently running
Currently, a total of 144 Vande Bharat Express trains are running on various railway routes of the country. According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Vande Bharat Express trains are running at more than 100 percent capacity on all routes. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told the Lok Sabha on Wednesday (July 30, 2025) that the total occupancy in Vande Bharat Express trains in the financial year 2024-25 and 2025-26 (till June 2025) is 102.01% and 105.03%. There is a plan to run Vande Bharat trains on more new routes in the coming time. Vande Bharat train is providing comfortable travel to rail passengers in less time.
