Actually, in response to a question in the Lok Sabha, the Railway Minister has given information. A question was asked in the Lok Sabha that in view of the negative response and decrease in the number of passengers, is the government considering to withdraw the dynamic fare system? In response to this, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that at present there is no plan to withdraw the flexi fare policy of the government.

Railway Minister gave information

The Railway Minister said, ‘Railway Dynamic Fare System is the system in which the fare is fixed according to the demand. Under this, with the booking of 10 percent seats, the fare increases by 10 percent. As the number of seats decreases, the fare increases. However, this is not applicable in all types of trains. This arrangement was implemented on 9 September 2016 in trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto. But now rail fares on many routes have become more expensive than airplanes. Due to this, people have started traveling by air due to being economical in both time and money, due to which the number of railway passengers has come down.

Decrease in the number of railway passengers

The Railway Minister has informed that in the pre-Corona era, the earnings from passenger and trains in the Flexi Fare System were more than the non-flexi, but still no idea on withdrawing this policy of the government. is not doing. The Railway Minister said, ‘Railways and airlines are two different modes of transport. They cannot be compared in terms of volume, connectivity and convenience. There is no maximum fare limit in airlines whereas railways has fixed the maximum fare for the whole year. The fare of airlines depends on many factors. Railway fare can be more or less than the airline. It depends on which class you are traveling in. It is for the passenger to decide whether to travel by railways or airlines.’
