Traffic Challan Payment: Pay traffic challan online through UPI or Paytm, know step by step method

Then due to the pandemic and social distancing, there was a huge surge in digital payments. UPI payment became very famous. Today, everyone from big showrooms to vegetable sellers accepts payments through UPI. Traffic police has also adopted digital payment. Many cities across the country offer online traffic challan payment option. Talking about NCR, Gurugram Police has started accepting online challan payment. Faridabad Police has already started this service. You can use any UPI app or PayTm to make challan payment.

If you have violated any traffic rule then you can be issued an e-challan. E-challan is sent in letter to your registered mobile number or your home address. Legal action can be taken against you if payment is not made within 60 days of issue of e-challan.

How to pay traffic challan through PayTm

  • Open PayTm mobile app.
  • Go to Recharge and Bill Payment.
  • Click on ‘View All’ in the Recharge and Bill Payment section.
  • Now find the ‘Challan’ section in it and click on it.
  • Now select ‘Traffic Authority’ from the drop down menu.
  • Suppose your challan has been issued in Faridabad then select Faridabad Police.
  • Enter challan information. In this, challan number and vehicle number will have to be filled. Click on and select ‘Proceed’.
  • Now the challan information and money will appear in front of you. Click on ‘Next’.
  • Then cashback offer will also be visible. If any, select it and click on ‘Payment’.
  • Now choose your preferred Paytm method and make payment.
  • Now complete the process by clicking on ‘Pay Traffic Challan’.

You can also complete the challan online by visiting the website of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). You will have to do this by visiting the official website of the ministry www.echallan.parivahan.gov.in. Here, to check the challan data you have to first enter the challan number, car registration number or driver’s license number. After this you will have to click on Get Details and fill the captcha. You will have to show the challan. Once you view the information, you can make the payment by selecting the ‘Make Online Payment’ option on the same page. Simply because you can now pay traffic fine through UPI and online methods. You can also make payment through your old method.
