Special news: Railways will sell on platforms from soap and shampoo to medicine

Along with New Delhi railway station, passengers will now get every item of need at Nizamuddin, Old Delhi, Anand Vihar station. Under this, food courts, automatic vending machines will be installed. Other personal care products, including creams, soaps, shampoos, medicine, will be stored in the vending machine. Apart from this, many other facilities including massage parlor will also be available to the passengers.

Along with food items, LED TVs will be installed in stations and trains for entertainment. Not only this, there is also a plan to run a battery-powered rickshaw at all stations for the differently-abled and senior citizens. For this, the Delhi Railway Division has issued a tender. Railways expect to generate revenue of Rs 51.64 lakh annually. 
Permission to sell other foods at fruit-juice stall

Railways have now changed the catering policy to allow other food items to be sold at the fruit-juice stalls on the platform. The advantage will be that passengers will not have to go to the main platform. Personal care products will be easily available on all platforms with food and vending machines.

There will also be
cheap medicines shops. For the convenience of travelers, cheap drug shops will also be opened. As a pilot project, a generic drug store has been opened at Anand Vihar railway station. Now along the lines of this, cheap medicine shops will also be opened at Nizamuddin, Sarai Kale Khan, Old Delhi, Sarai Rohilla station.



Battery rickshaw facilities at all stations
For the convenience of disabled and senior citizens, the number of battery rickshaws will be increased at New Delhi, Old Delhi, Anand Vihar, Nizamuddin railway station. For this, a fee of Rs 50 will be charged from each passenger.

Vande will set up LED TV in India
Along with the entertainment of the passengers, the railways have also found a way to earn. The 18.5-inch LED TV will be installed in the country’s fastest running Vande Bharat train. Railways will earn through promotion with passengers free entertainment facility.

Passengers will get facilities, revenue to railways
Apart from the daily use of soap, shampoo at the station, passengers will also get the facility of entertainment in the train. Railways will also benefit with the passengers. Railways will earn from this. Non-fare revenue will accrue to the Railways annually from the contract. Vending machines will generate revenue of Rs 8.64 lakhs and Vande Bharat Express contracts worth Rs 2.15 crores over a period of 5 years from contracts awarded for advertising rights. Railways will get revenue of 51 lakhs annually.
