In view of the crowd on the day of Ganesh Visarjan, it has been decided by Western Railway to run 8 special local trains on the midnight of 28th and 29th September. All these trains will run from Churchgate to Virar.
Keeping in mind the possible huge crowd of passengers during Ganpati Visarjan, for their convenience, Western Railways has decided to run eight special local trains on the intervening night of 28th and 29th September. These trains will run between Churchgate and Virar stations.
It has been decided to stop all fast trains in the up direction at all stations including Charni Road between Mumbai Central and Churchgate between 17.00 hrs to 20.30 hrs on 28th September, 2023. Generally these suburban services do not stop between Mumbai Central and Churchgate during evening peak hours.
According to the information, in order to reduce the crowd of passengers on platform number 2 of Charni Road station, it has also been decided that on September 28, 2023, between 17.00 hrs to 22.00 hrs, all slow trains in the up direction going towards Churchgate will be halted. Will not stop at Charni Road station. Hence platform no. of Charni Road station. 2. No train will be available during this period.

The first special local train from Virar to Churchgate will depart at 00.15 and reach Churchgate at 01.52.
- The second special local train will depart from Virar at 00.45 hrs and reach Churchgate at 02.22 hrs.
- The third special local train will depart from Virar at 01.40 hrs and reach Churchgate at 03.15 hrs.
- The fourth special local train will depart from Virar at 03.00 hrs and reach Churchgate at 04.40 hrs.
- Similarly, the first special local train in down direction will depart from Churchgate at 01.15 hrs and reach Virar at 02.50 hrs.
- The second special local train will depart from Churchgate at 01.55 and reach Virar at 03.32.
- The third special local train will depart from Churchgate at 02.25 hrs and reach Virar at 04.02 hrs.
- The fourth special local train will depart from Churchgate at 03.20 hrs and reach Virar at 04.58 hrs.
- These special trains will stop at all suburban stations between Churchgate and Virar.
