Single use plastic ban has been imposed in the country from July 1. A total of 19 items have been banned. There are many things in it that are part of our lifestyle. Here we are going to tell you some such options that you can use in exchange for these banned items. 

Ban- Plastic carry bags (thickness less than 75 microns)

Remedy- You can use cloth bags instead. You can always carry a bag with you in your car trunk or office bag so that you do not have to take polythene to take the goods.

Ban-Plastic Stick Ear Buds

Remedy- There are already wooden or bamboo stick ear buds in the market. Their cost is marginally more than the ear buds with plastic sticks. You can use them.

Ban-Stick

Remedy for Plastic Flags and Balloons- You can use flags made of paper or cloth instead. Whereas, instead of plastic sticks for balloons, old-fashioned bamboo sticks or reed sticks can be used.

Ban-Candy Stick or Ice Cream Stick

Remedy- A stick made of bamboo or reed can be used for candy. At the same time, a wooden stick can be used in ice cream and a wooden spoon can be used instead of a plastic spoon for eating.

Ban-Plastic Plate-bowl

Remedy- India has been using its alternative for many times. At the same time, there are also options for plate-cups made of bamboo, sugarcane bagasse and paper.

Ban-Plastic Glass

Remedy- There are two alternatives to plastic glasses, either we use glasses made of paper or kulhad made of clay.

Ban-Plastic Spoon-Forks-Birthday Knife

Remedy- Its cheap and useful alternatives include spoons, forks and birthday knives made of bamboo and wood.

Ban- Plastic Straw

Remedy- This plastic straw causes maximum damage to the environment among single use plastic items. The best option for this is paper straws in today’s days. At the same time, some people also carry a steel straw with them.

Ban- Stick

Remedy for mixing sugar- The best option for this is bamboo sticks. You can easily mix sugar in tea or coffee with these bamboo sticks in your office or any restaurant.

Apart from this, the government has also banned the use of trays, thermocol, invitation cards, film wrapping or packing sweet boxes and PVC banners of less than 100 microns in single-use plastic items.

The government has issued strict guidelines to completely ban things made of single use plastic. Strict instructions have been given to all the manufacturers, stock holders, suppliers and distributors, if anyone is found breaking the rules, then a provision has also been made for strict punishment.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, if single use plastic waste is generated from the house, then a fine of Rs 500 will be charged. At the same time, if any institution or company spreads garbage, then it will have to pay a fine of five thousand rupees. There is also a provision for imprisonment of up to 5 years and fine up to one lakh rupees if caught using them.
