School timings changed – School timings have been changed in view of the winter season. Due to the sudden increase in cold, the Haryana government has ordered changes in the timings of schools across the state.

To protect children from cold and ensure their education in a better environment, the Directorate of Education has changed the school timings from November 15. Schools will now be open from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

In double shift schools, the first shift will run from 7:55 am to 12:30 pm, while the second shift will run from 12:40 pm to 5:15 pm. This information was given by District Education Officer Jind, Rohtash Verma while talking to the media in his office today. He said that there are 723 government schools in the district, out of which 423 are primary, where about 100,000 students study. He said that the Education Directorate has issued these orders keeping in mind the winter season.

In compliance with these orders, changes in school timings will be implemented from Saturday, and legal action will be taken against those violating these orders. He also informed that to ensure the health of the children, the Directorate has decided to serve kheer and pini (sweet dish) in the mid-day meal.

He informed that the children will be given pini along with their iron tablets, so that they do not eat on an empty stomach. He also informed that a committee has been formed in all schools for mid-day meal, and the head of the school will personally check the quality of the food before serving it to the children. The mid-day meal workers have been instructed to cover their heads with clinical caps to prevent hair from falling into the food.
