School closed- The havoc of floods continues in Punjab and the entire state has been engulfed by floods, due to which the holidays in schools and colleges of Punjab were extended till September 7.

Now the Education Minister has shared important information about the opening of schools by tweeting. All government schools in the state will be closed for students on September 8. Teachers will be present in the schools and the cleaning operation will be done with the help of SMC, Panchayats, Municipal Councils and Corporations.

Important information and instructions regarding the opening of educational institutions in the state of Punjab

1. All government, private and aided schools, colleges and universities in the state will open as usual from tomorrow. If any school or college is affected by floods, the decision to close it will be taken by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district.

2. It will be mandatory for the administrators of private schools to ensure that the school building and classrooms are absolutely safe so that the safety of students and teachers can be ensured.

3. All government schools in the state will remain closed for students on September 8. Teachers will remain present in the schools and the cleanliness drive will be carried out with the help of SMC, Panchayats, Municipal Councils and Corporations.

4. The teachers will conduct a complete inspection of the school buildings. If any problem or defect is found, it should be immediately reported to the Deputy Commissioner and Engineering Department of the district.

5. All government schools will open as usual from September 9th.
