School Closed: Heavy destruction has been caused by cloudburst in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand on Tuesday. There was a sudden flood in Dharali after heavy rains, due to which many houses were destroyed. So far four people have died and many people are missing. Heavy rain alert has been issued in the state today as well. In view of this, holidays have been declared in schools.
School Closed: Along with death from cloudburst in Uttarkashi, rain has also caused heavy destruction in Uttar Pradesh. Ganga and Yamuna rivers are in spate. Flood situation persists in Prayagraj. Here, in view of heavy rains, orders have been given to close all schools from nursery to 12th in Murbad. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Murbad and its surrounding areas today.
Schools closed in many districts including Chamoli of Uttarakhand
After the heavy destruction caused by the cloudburst incident in Uttarkashi and the warning of heavy rains, orders have been given to close schools in many districts of the state. Today, there has been a warning of heavy rain in Chamoli. In view of heavy rains, the district administration has ordered the closure of all schools from class nursery to 12th. In Rudrapur too, all schools up to 12th will remain closed today. An order has been issued regarding this.
Orange alert issued for heavy rains in Uttarakhand
The Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for heavy rains in seven districts including Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar, Pauri, Tehri, Haridwar and Dehradun.
Life disrupted due to continuous rain in Uttarakhand
Due to continuous rains at various places in Uttarakhand for the last 48 hours, all the rivers and streams including Ganga, Yamuna overflowed and the roads were blocked due to landslides, due to which normal life was disrupted. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in 11 out of 13 districts of the state in the next 24 hours and has issued a warning of waterlogging and flood danger.
