Actually, Railways has launched Biometric Token Machine. Railways has made this special offer to save passengers from overcrowding during the Corona period. This machine has been launched by South Central Railway at Secunderabad railway station. This is the first such machine to be installed at the railway station. Let us know in detail.
What is Biometric Token Machine?
You must have also seen that there is a huge crowd while climbing in the general compartment. Railway administration is also ready to control this crowd. During the Corona period, the crowd of passengers can prove to be dangerous, so the Railways has taken this wonderful step. With this, the rule of two yards distance at the stations will not be flouted. To make boarding the train easier, the system of Biometric Token Machine has been started.
Token will facilitate passengers
A token will be generated for each passenger from the biometric token machine and on the basis of the same token, the passengers will board the passenger train in their respective turn. That is, now there will be no crowd. This arrangement is completely for the unreserved compartment as the passengers in the reserved class know in advance which coach to sit in which seat. And this is the reason why the crowd remains controlled in the reserve class. In the unreserved class, people flock together for the seat.
Will no longer be crowded
Biometric machine has been launched in view of the overcrowding while boarding the unreserved compartment in the train. Let us tell you that this machine keeps a record of every passenger’s name, PNR number, train number and destination. The passenger has to enter all his details on the machine. After this the biometric machine will capture your photo and finger print. After taking all the information, the machine will generate a token for the passenger. The serial number and coach number of the passenger are written on this token. The passenger has to sit on the seat mentioned according to the coach number.
Crime will be controlled
With the help of biometric token machine, the criminal offenses committed in the train can be tightened. Actually, with this the railway will have the details of all the passengers, so if any crime is committed, it can be easily caught. Criminal elements will be afraid to board the train due to the fear of photographs and fingerprints being stored in the biometric machine. That is, overall, this step will make rail travel more secure.

Railways said, ‘The big advantage of the biometric machine will be in stopping the crowd at the stations. Since the passengers will get the coach number in advance, they will not have to stand in the queue for hours and wait to board the train. From the biometric machine, the passenger will know only while taking the token in which coach to sit, then he will go to the station or train only when it comes.
There will be a distance of two yards on the platform too
At present, general class passengers assemble at the station hours in advance, but with this new system, the crowd at the station and on the platform will also be controlled. On getting the token, the passenger will go to the platform 15 minutes before the train starts and will comfortably board his coach. Token machine will reduce the need and work of Railway Protection Force because the police force has to do more work in administrative work. The biometric machine has been first launched on 14 September 2021. Let us tell you that very soon another biometric machine will also be installed at Secunderabad station.
