New Delhi: At present, road accidents are increasing day by day. In poor families, a mountain of sorrow breaks out when there is injury or death in road accidents. In such a situation, an insurance scheme with a better cover helps poor families in terms of money in this hour of grief. But it is often seen that poor families are not able to get the benefit of insurance facility due to expensive premium.
Insurance will be available by depositing 20 rupees annually
In order to provide the benefit of insurance to the poor families, the government has run a scheme named Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. In this insurance scheme, we get a cover of lakhs by paying premium only in name. Under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, you can get insurance benefits up to Rs 2 lakh by depositing only Rs 20 in a year. If the insured dies in a road accident, the nominee will get Rs 2 lakh. Apart from this, Rs 1 lakh will be given even if there is a disability in a road accident.
How to get claim
After the death of the insured, the nominee will have to go to the bank and the insurance office and fill the claim form. Along with this, he will also have to submit the death certificate in the bank branch having the policyholder’s savings account. After this, the amount of insurance cover will be transferred to the nominee by the bank officer in his bank account.

- To apply for Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana online, you have to first go to the official website of Jan Suraksha Yojana. After which the home page will open in front of you.
- Then click on the option of Forms on the home page. 3 options will appear in front of you. In these, click on the Prime Minister’s Suraksha Bima Yojana.
- As soon as you click, the options of application form and claim form will open in front of you on the new page, in which you have to click on the application form.
- Now download the PMSBY application form according to you in Hindi and English or other language. After downloading take a print out of the form.
- Now fill all the information asked in the form like: agency name, savings account account number, your name, address, mobile number, Aadhar card number, date of birth, email ID, name of the nominee.
- After this, you attach all the necessary documents asked for in the form with the application form. After filling all the information, you will have to submit the form to the bank with your savings account.
