New rules of UPI will be implemented
The new rules of UPI will come into effect from 15 September 2025, under which online payments of up to Rs 10 lakh can be made in a day for verified merchants. This means that now there will be no need to make repeated transactions for large payments. However, the limit for person-to-person transactions between two people will remain the same as before at Rs 1 lakh per day. There has been no change in this.

Apart from this, the limit for payment of loan and EMI has also been increased to Rs 5 lakh per transaction. A maximum of Rs 10 lakh can be paid in a day.
