New Delhi: Petrol Price 13 September 2021 Update: There is no change in the prices of petrol and diesel for the 8th consecutive day today.
Crude oil is once again trading above $ 73 per barrel in the global market. Oil companies had earlier cut the prices of both petrol and diesel by 15-15 paise per liter on 5 September. However, the prices of both the fuels remain at record levels. Petrol and diesel prices have been cut twice in the month of September. At the beginning of the month i.e. on September 01, government oil companies had reduced the price of petrol and diesel by 15-15 paise in the Indian market.
Earlier, there was no change in petrol prices for 35 days from July 17 till August 21. On August 22, the prices were reduced by 20 paise. Petrol prices were reduced by 35 paise in the month of August, while diesel became cheaper by 95 paise.
Crude oil crosses $73
Whether the prices of petrol and diesel will increase in India depends on the price of crude oil in the global market. When Brent crude had slipped to a 4-month low in the global market, crude oil had gone up to $ 66 per barrel, even then there was no significant cut in the prices of petrol and diesel. Now Brent crude has once again crossed $73.
Even today, the rate of petrol in Delhi is Rs 101.34 per liter. While diesel is being sold at Rs 88.77 per liter. Similarly, in Mumbai today petrol is Rs 107.39 per liter and the price of diesel is Rs 96.33 per liter. Petrol in Kolkata is being sold at Rs 101.72, while diesel is priced at Rs 91.84 per litre. The rate of petrol in Chennai is Rs 99.08 and diesel is at Rs 93.38 per liter.

Petrol costlier by Rs 19.33 in 1 year
Crude oil is trading at $73 per barrel in the international market. Petrol and diesel prices have increased drastically this year. Talking about this year only, petrol prices have increased by 38% so far. In March and April, when the assembly elections of 5 states were to be held, the prices remained stagnant. Rather, there was a cut thrice in March and once in April. Petrol prices have increased by Rs 19.33 in a year. On September 13, 2020, the rate of petrol in Delhi was Rs 81.86.
Petrol became costlier by Rs 3.30 in July
Let us tell you that in July, the price of petrol was increased by Rs 3.03 while diesel became costlier by 69 paise. Let us tell you that the price of petrol has crossed Rs 100 in about 20 states and union territories. In which apart from four metro cities, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir are included.
Petrol costlier by Rs 4.32 in June
Petrol and diesel prices were increased 16 times in June. In June, petrol became costlier by Rs 4.32. On June 1, the rate of petrol in Delhi was Rs 94.49 per liter, on June 30 the rate was Rs 98.81. While diesel has become costlier by Rs 3.80. On June 1, the rate of diesel in Delhi was Rs 85.38, on June 30 the rate was Rs 89.18.
Petrol became costlier by Rs 4.09 in May
Prior to this, the prices of petrol and diesel were increased 16 times in the month of May. Petrol-diesel prices were increased for 4 consecutive days from May 4, while due to elections, there was peace in the prices of petrol and diesel for the first 18 days. In the entire month of May, the rate of petrol in Delhi has become costlier by Rs 4.09. While diesel has become costlier by Rs 4.68 this month.
