New rules have been implemented from today for the passengers of 6 countries coming to India. These rules have been changed due to the sharp decline in Covid infection globally.


Starting today, India is doing away with mandatory COVID-19 testing for passengers arriving from China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand and Japan. A rapid decline in virus-related infections has been recorded globally.

The central government has also abolished the compulsion of uploading ‘air facility’ form for such passengers.

10 special things about new travel rules

  1. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, in a letter to his counterpart in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Rajiv Bansal, said that his ministry is updating the ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals’ in view of the decline in Covid-19 cases.
  2. The health ministry has said that random Covid-19 testing of 2% of all passengers disembarking in India will continue.
  3. The new rule will be applicable from February 13 for China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand.
  4. This decision has been taken in view of the huge decline in the cases of coronovirus in these countries in the last few weeks.
  5. The letter states that in view of the above, this Ministry is updating its ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals’, and removing the existing requirements of pre-departure COVID-19 testing and uploading the self-health declaration on the Ministry’s website. Used to be. The ‘Air Suvidha’ portal of civil aviation is applicable for international passengers arriving from/via China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Thailand and Japan.
  6. The letter further states that the current exercise of random testing of two per cent passengers irrespective of their country of origin on arrival in India, to monitor for infection due to mutated variants of SARS-CoV-2 among international travelers arriving in India Will go continue.
  7. Also, according to the latest situational update on coronavirus from the World Health Organisation, there has been a decline of 89% in the number of new confirmed cases in the last 28 days.

  9. Meanwhile, India recorded 124 new Covid-19 cases, while the active infection count has risen to 1,843, according to the Union health ministry’s data updated on Sunday. Data shows that the death toll is now 5,30,750.
  10. According to the website of the Ministry of Health, under the nationwide vaccination campaign, about 220.62 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been given so far in India.
