The process of implementation of 4 Labor Codes (Labor Code) in the country is in the final stage. If all goes well, then from July 1, the new rules of the Labor Code will come into force. With its implementation, there is a possibility of impact on in hand salary, office timings of employees, PF contribution, gratuity etc.

Let us tell you that the Central Government had prepared a draft regarding the Labor Code. After this, the states were asked to prepare the rules on their behalf. Recently, Minister of State for Labor and Employment, Rameshwar Teli, in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, said that only 23 states and union territories have prepared the draft rules.

What is in the draft of the Center: According to the draft of the Central Government, a proposal has been presented to increase the maximum working hours to 12. This is divided into 4-3 ratios per week. If you understand in simple language then there will be 4 days office, 3 days week off. If we look at its calculation, then the employees will have to work for 48 hours in 4 days i.e. 12 hours every day. Half an hour’s rest is also proposed to the employees after every five hours.


Overtime, impact on PF: If the employee works more than 48 hours in a week, then overtime will be paid. Basic pay should be 50% or more of the total pay. With the increase in basic salary, your PF will also increase. Due to this, the pension amount received after retirement will increase. At the same time, there is a proposal for incentives, medical insurance and other facilities in the Labor Code of the Central Government.
