New Delhi. The Central Government is preparing to reduce the weight of domestic LPG cylinders. Keeping in mind the difficulties faced by women in transporting gas cylinders (LPG customers) weighing 14.2 kg, the government is considering various options including reducing its weight.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave this information in reply to supplementary questions during Question Hour in Rajya Sabha. Earlier, a member had mentioned the problems faced by women due to the cylinder being heavy.

Women will not have problems

In response to this, Puri said that we do not want women and daughters to bear the heavy weight of the cylinder themselves and it is being considered to reduce its weight. He said that we will find a way, whether it is to reduce the weight of 14.2 kilograms to five kilograms or some other way… we are committed to do that.

Know the government’s plan regarding subsidy

LPG price is increasing continuously. However, in the meantime good news is coming for the customers. Yes.. once again subsidy is being given on LPG gas cylinder. Subsidy money has been transferred to the customers account. According to the information, now LPG gas consumers are being given Rs 79.26 per cylinder as subsidy.
