The battle of becoming number 1 is going on between the two giants of the telecom sector i.e. Reliance Jio and Airtel. Along with this, companies are also trying to increase their earnings. This is the reason that nowadays companies are trying to shift users to a slightly expensive entry level plan.

Taking a big step in this episode, Airtel has discontinued its entry level plan of Rs 49. Now Airtel prepaid plans start at Rs 79. However, Reliance Jio’s Rs 75 plan is still giving a tough competition to Airtel.

Recharge of Rs 79 required to keep the number active

After the closure of this Rs 49 plan, the entry level prepaid plans in Airtel’s portfolio are starting from Rs 79. In this plan, the company is giving talk time of Rs 64 with 200MB data. This means that now Airtel users will have to do a recharge of at least Rs 79 to keep their number running.

Talk time of 106 minutes in Rs 79 plan

This strategy of Airtel can be useful for the financial benefit of the company. With this, Airtel users will also have to recharge with the Rs 79 plan, who use their number only for incoming calls as it is a bit expensive for them to make outgoing calls. In Airtel’s Rs 79 plan, talk time of Rs 64 is being given, which is 106 minutes at the rate of 60 paise per minute.

SMS service block in Rs 79 plan

Along with this, now Airtel has also blocked the free SMS service in the Rs 79 plan. In such a situation, it becomes difficult for the low-end users of this plan to take many government facilities related to SMS. The validity of this plan of Airtel is 28 days.

Jio’s Rs 75 plan is giving tough competition

Here Jio is giving a tough competition to this plan of Airtel with its Rs 75 plan. In this plan coming for Jio phone, better benefits are being given than Airtel. In this plan, the company user gets 300 minutes for free calling every month. Apart from this, 100MB + 200MB data is also being given every day in this plan of Jio. The validity of the plan is 28 days and it also offers 50 free SMS for the entire validity period. The special thing is that the company is making this plan available with ‘Buy One Get One Offer’.
