In fact, in the Lok Sabha, MP Veena Devi had asked the question that after the introduction of the catering service, has the Railways already started giving blanket bedsheets to rail passengers traveling in AC class? So answering this, Railway Minister Ashnini Vaishnav has said no sir. That is, it is clear that the Railways has started its operation like Kovid East, but despite the cold, it has not started giving blanket bedsheets to the passengers inside the train. Due to which the passengers have to make all these arrangements themselves. They are bringing blanket bedsheets from home or have to pay separately to buy disposable bedrolls available in the train.
No discount ticket facility
The question was also asked to the Railway Minister whether the service of concessional tickets has been started for senior citizens and other categories of passengers traveling by rail and if not, when will the service of concessional tickets be started? Responding to this question, the Railway Minister said that due to the pandemic Kovid protocol, the concessional ticket facility of the Railways being given for all categories except four categories of Divyangjan and 11 categories of patients and students has been withdrawn.
Rail travel expensive for the elderly
