Monsoon has once again picked up speed across the country. Continuous heavy rains have disrupted normal life. Torrential rains and flood-like conditions have increased the difficulties of people.
Before its departure, monsoon is fully active in Madhya Pradesh as well. While heavy rains in many districts of the state fulfilled the annual quota of water, flood-like conditions have worsened the situation. Rains recorded in various parts of the state on Thursday affected normal life and created flood-like conditions at many places.
Last 24 hours: Temperature drop and heavy rain
In the last 24 hours, heavy rain was recorded in most of the districts of Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, Ujjain, Gwalior, Chambal, Rewa, Jabalpur, Shahdol and Sagar divisions. However, the weather remained dry at many places. Due to continuous rain, the temperature of Bhopal, Narmadapuram and Jabalpur divisions has decreased. The highest temperature of 34 degrees was recorded in Tikamgarh district while the minimum temperature reached 17 degrees in Khandwa district.
Effect of low pressure area and cyclonic circulation
According to the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area formed in eastern Madhya Pradesh and northern Chhattisgarh is the main reason for this continuous rain. The active cyclonic circulation at a height of about 5.8 kilometers above sea level is slowly moving towards south-west Madhya Pradesh. It is likely to become more effective in the next 24 hours. At the same time, the monsoon trough is extending from Narmadapuram and Seoni to the Bay of Bengal, due to which heavy rain conditions prevail in most parts of the state.

Due to active low pressure area and monsoon trough, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning for 36 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Orange alert has been declared in Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar and Ratlam districts due to the possibility of very heavy rains.
