7th pay commission HRA Hike: Good news for government employees, HRA will increase by 3% after DA.

HRA Hike Updates: Now the government can soon increase the HRA (House Rent Allowance) of central government employees. The government has decided to deposit bonus, DA and arrears in the accounts of the employees before Diwali (Diwali 2023).

The government has decided to deposit bonus, DA and arrears in the accounts of the employees before Diwali (Diwali 2023). At present, employees are getting DA at the rate of 46 percent. Revision of HRA is to happen after DA hike.

Let us tell you when and by how much the government can increase HRA-

According to DoPT, the house rent allowance of employees is revised according to DA. The categories of HRA differ according to cities. At present, people from city X get HRA at the rate of 27 percent, people from city Y get 18 percent and people from city Z get 9 percent.

HRA may be revised in January

According to our sister website Zee Business, the revision of HRA will be done according to the DA hike. At present, the next revision is to be held in the year 2024. It may increase only in the beginning of January. It is believed that the next revision in HRA will be of 3 percent.

HRA can be 30 percent

At present, employees are getting HRA at the maximum rate of 27 percent, which can increase by 3 percent to 30 percent. Central employees who fall in X category are getting 27 percent HRA, which will become 30 percent if DA is 50 percent. At the same time, for Y Class people it will increase from 18 percent to 20 percent. For Z Class people, it will increase from 9 percent to 10 percent.

What will happen if DA is 50 percent?

Let us tell you that cities with population of more than 50 lakh are included in X category. According to the memorandum of the Finance Department, if DA crosses 50 percent, HRA will become 30 percent, 20 percent and 10 percent.

3 months money will be given as arrears

Recently, the dearness allowance of central employees has been increased by the government. The government has increased DA at the rate of 4 percent. Now employees will get DA at the rate of 46 percent. Apart from this, money for the months of July, August and September will be received in the form of arrears.
