The monsoon is now in its final stages in the country, but rain continues in the capital Delhi and several states. Typically, clear weather is expected on Dussehra, but this time, rain affected the Ravana Dahan and other events.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for the next few days in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, and other states.

Heavy rain alert in UP for next 48 hours

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall on October 4th. A warning for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning has been issued for more than 50 districts in the state. The weather has become even more uncertain due to a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal. Thunderstorms and storms with winds of up to 75 kilometers per hour are also expected in Uttar Pradesh. Heavy rain is forecast for western Uttar Pradesh on October 5th and 6th.

Weather condition in other states

Rainfall is likely at isolated places over northwest India on October 4 and 5. This is followed by heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning from October 5 to 7. Rainfall is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh from October 5 to 7. Rainfall is likely over Uttarakhand on October 6 and 7, Punjab on October 5 and 6, and Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and western Uttar Pradesh on October 6 and 7.

In addition, hailstorm warnings have been issued for some states. Hailstorms are expected in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on October 5th, in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on October 6th, and in Punjab on October 5th and 6th.
