7th Pay Commission: There is great news for the doctors and medical college teachers working in Gujarat. The Gujarat government has approved Non-Practice Allowance (NPA) for doctors working in government hospitals and teachers of Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS) medical colleges as per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission.

Doctors and teachers will get this allowance

Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Nitin Patel announced this decision, describing it as a Rakshabandhan gift for doctors and medical college teachers. Let us tell you that the teachers and doctors had been pressurizing this demand for a long time and had also gone on strike regarding this.

In which it is written that Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has approved Non-Practice Allowance (NPA) as per the Seventh Pay Commission as a Rakshabandhan gift to eligible serving doctors of government hospitals and teachers of GMERS Medical College.

Received allowance on the condition of withdrawing the strike

Let us tell you that in May this year, the Gujarat government had approved the same NPA for teachers of six government medical colleges according to the Seventh Pay Commission. A few months later, he was approved on the condition of withdrawing his strike along with the teachers of 8 GMERS medical colleges.

Gujarat Medical Teachers Association (GMTA) President Dr. Rajnish Patel has welcomed the government’s decision. He said that it is a welcome step that the government has accepted the pending demands of the teachers and serving doctors of GMERS Medical College. Let us tell you that GMERS Medical Colleges are semi-government institutions established under the Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society of the State Health Department.
