Good News to LPG Customers: Now You Can Refill Cylinders From Nearest Distributor

Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Rameshwar Teli told in the Lok Sabha that LPG customers can choose the nearest LPG distributor by logging in through mobile app or OMC web portal. Along with this, you will also be able to see the rating of the distributor.



The central government is making constant efforts to increase the convenience of the consumers. In this episode, now Rasai gas consumers (LPG customers) are being given the freedom to choose their own gas distributor for LPG refill. Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Rameshwar Teli, in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, said that LPG customers have been given the option to choose a distributor as per their convenience. Let us tell you that at present, customers can fill gas cylinders only from the designated distributor. At present, this facility has been started in some cities only. Later it will be implemented across the country.

Option to change will be available if the rating of the distributor is bad
The Minister of State for Petroleum said that the customers can choose the distributor by logging in through the mobile app or through the OMC web portal. Along with this, customers will also be able to see the rating of the distributor delivering the cylinder. This rating will be decided on the basis of previous performance of the distributor. In such a situation, if the rating of the distributor deteriorates, then the customer will be able to easily choose another LPG distributor. Along with the rating, a list of distributors will also be given on the mobile app or portal of oil companies. Customers will have to click on the name of the distributor of their area for cylinder delivery.

If the scheme is successful in these cities, it will be implemented in other cities of the country as well. Let us inform that at present the price of domestic LPG cylinder in New Delhi is Rs 834.50. Last month, the cost of a 14 kg LPC cylinder was Rs 809 in the national capital. The price of LPG cylinder in Delhi in January 2021 was Rs 694. In February 2021, its price was increased to Rs 719 per cylinder.
