76th Delhi Police Raising Day: On the occasion of the Foundation Day of Delhi Police, Home Minister Amit Shah has given a big gift to the people of Delhi. Now passport facility has gone completely online. Verification will also happen soon. The verification time from police will also not take two weeks but will take only 5 days.
New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah has removed the major tension of passports of Delhiites today. During the Foundation Day celebrations of Delhi Police, he announced that now passport verification will be done through tablets. Shah said that many things have been added along with the Foundation Day parade today. First of all, he announced about the passport. He said that now passport will be verified through mobile tablet. Shah said that in a city like Delhi, we understand the importance of time very well. Now citizens of India settled in Delhi will not have to wait for 15 days for police status verification to get passport. Now in 5 days they will get it online.
Shah told that people will not need to go anywhere for this. Together at your home they can get online. The Home Minister informed that on an average 2000 passport applications are received in Delhi daily. The public is going to be benefited by the process of Rs 2,000 being online and their problems will be reduced.

People’s time is going to be saved due to the facility of passport verification being completely online. Passport or Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) can be applied for online at www.passportindia.gov.in. You can also choose the e-form (offline mode) in case of poor internet connectivity. As per the information available on the Passport Seva website, it is mandatory for all applicants including children to have fingerprints, photographs and other documents available at Passport Seva Kendra and Post Office Passport Seva Kendra.

On this day in 1948, DW Mehra was appointed the first Chief of the Delhi Police after it was separated from the Punjab Police. Every year 16 February is celebrated as Delhi Police Foundation Day.
