Former Indian cricketer sacked for sexual harassment of women players

Baroda, PTI Former Indian cricketer Atul Bedade was accused of sexual harassment by some women players. The team’s coach Atul Bedade was suspended following these serious allegations, but now his suspension has been removed by the Baroda Cricket Association, but he has been dismissed as the coach of the women’s team. Atul Bedade was charged in late March, following which the lockdown took place and no action was taken against him at that time.

Former Indian batsman Atul Bedade, who played 13 ODIs in international career, was suspended till the completion of the investigation in March this year. Atul Bedade was accused of sexually harassing and publicly humiliating several women players. Women players said that coaches used to make lewd and objectionable comments on them. Due to this, BCA suspended him from the coach post.

The Baroda Cricket Association, or BCA, withdrew Atul Bedade’s suspension, but was dismissed from the post. The CEO and senior HR manager conducted a preliminary inquiry into the matter after receiving a complaint against Bedade. The issue was discussed in the apex council meeting held on 2 June 2020. After this the top council removed the suspension imposed on him but was dismissed from the post.



It is said that Atul Bedade used to put six on the demand of the audience, but his international career did not last long. However, in his first class career, he played 64 matches for his team and scored a total of 3136 runs. At the same time, if he talked about international career, he played a total of 13 matches for the country, in which he could score 158 runs while batting in the middle order. It also included a half-century.
