New Delhi: Even after the arrival of FASTag at the toll plaza, people are facing the problem of jam. For this reason, the government may soon take a big decision regarding Fastag. The government can bring such a facility, which will eliminate the need for toll plazas.

To get rid of such problems, the central government is planning to introduce a new toll collection system. The government is soon planning to implement a new GPS-based toll system called ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Reader) cameras for toll collection.

How will this GPS based system work?

This ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Reader) system will read the license plate of the vehicle, after which the toll tax will be deducted from the vehicle owner’s bank account. This system will depend on the cameras installed at the entry and exit points. These cameras will click the photo of the license plate and deduct toll tax through toll from the vehicle number. This new ANPR system can prove to be a better option in place of Fastag.

Petrol worth crores was wasted at toll points

According to a report by Transport Corporation of India and IIM Calcutta, many vehicles stand in long queues at toll plazas, due to which oil worth about Rs 1 lakh crore is wasted. Apart from this, due to the traffic on the toll plaza, vehicles reach their destination late, due to which there is a loss of 45 thousand crore rupees. To save from this loss, the government can start ANPR system soon.

There is a loss of crores of rupees, that is, due to toll nakas overall, the country suffers a loss of 1 lakh 45 thousand crores. Vehicle number plate may also change

The government may soon make a big change in the vehicle number plate as well. Now the new number plate will have a GPS along with the vehicle number. Recently, the Union Transport Ministry has ordered installation of GPS number plates in new vehicles. Along with this, now new number plates will have to be installed in old vehicles as well. New GPS will also be installed in these new number plates. Along with this, a software will be installed at the toll plaza, due to which the toll tax money will be deducted from your account as soon as the vehicle leaves.

Now the number plate installed in your vehicles will not be normal but it will have a GPS system. The Union Transport Ministry has ordered the installation of GPS number plates in new vehicles. On the other hand, in old vehicles, the old number plate will have to be removed and a new number plate will be installed. In this, the GPS system will be attached to the number plate. Along with this, a software will be installed, due to which the toll will be cut automatically as soon as you reach the toll plaza.
