EPFO has shared a post on its official social media account X (earlier Twitter) in which EPFO has asked to beware of fake calls and SMS. EPFO said that it does not take personal information from any member. EPFO members should not share their personal information with anyone. EPFO also shared a poster on social media in which the slogan of ‘Be careful and be alert’ has been given. EPFO has said that it does not ask for information like UAN, password, PAN, Aadhaar, OTP etc. It does not ask for any information through any method like SMS, phone, email or Whatsapp.
Complain immediately if you receive a fake call or SMS.
EPFO said that if you receive any fake call or SMS, be alert and complain about it immediately. Subscribers can report to the police or cyber crime branch.
