Employees DA Hike: This state has increased dearness allowance, know how much DA increased and from when it will be applicable

New Delhi. There is good news for the government employees of Chhattisgarh. The state government has increased the dearness allowance of its employees-pensioners by 6 percent. The decision of the government will benefit 3.8 lakh government employees of Chhattisgarh. In Chhattisgarh, now the DA of state government employees has increased to 28%.


The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has given information about the increase in DA by tweeting from its official Twitter handle. The tweet said that the state government employees were getting 22% DA under the 7th Pay Commission and 174% under the 6th Pay Commission since May 2022. After revision, there has been an increase of 6% and 15% respectively under the 7th and 6th pay commission. Employees will get 28% and 189% DA from August 1, 2022.


The burden of Rs 2,160 crore will fall on the treasury

This step of the state government will increase the additional burden of Rs 2,160 crore annually on the exchequer. It is worth noting that recently, a delegation of employees’ organizations had met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Employees’ unions have demanded a 12 per cent hike in DA. However, now the government has increased the DM by only 6 percent.

Gujarat government has also increased dearness allowance

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday announced a 3% hike in DA for state government employees under the Seventh Pay Commission. In Gujarat, this increase will be applicable from January 1, 2022. Increase in dearness allowance will benefit 9.38 lakh employees. The increase in DA of employees will increase the financial burden of the state government by about Rs 1,400 crore annually. DA of Gujarat government employees has been increased by 3 percent. Patel said that this increase will be considered effective from January 1, 2022. That is, government employees will also get arrears of seven months. Gujarat government has increased DA twice this year.
