Diesel became cheaper by 40 paise in two days, check petrol rate list

Diesel has become cheaper by 40 paise in the last two days. According to the latest data of Indian Oil Corporation, a relief of 20 paise has been given in the price of diesel in Delhi and Mumbai on Thursday.


The new price of diesel in Mumbai is Rs 97.04 per liter and in Delhi it is Rs 89.47 per liter.

Diesel price in Chennai was cut by 18 paise, taking the new rates to Rs 94.02 per litre. Talking about Kolkata, diesel has become cheaper by 25 paise. Now the price of one liter of diesel has gone up to Rs 92.57 per litre. Let us inform that on Wednesday also a reduction of 20 paise was recorded in the price of diesel.

No change in petrol: However, there has been no change in petrol prices. Petrol prices have been stable for the last 32 days. From July 17, the retail price of a liter of petrol in the national capital Delhi is Rs 101.84 per litre. The price of petrol in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata is Rs 107.83, Rs 99.47 and Rs 102.08 per liter respectively.

Let us tell you that the prices of petrol and diesel are at their highest level in the country. Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had ruled out the possibilities of much relief in the prices of petrol and diesel. He had told that we are not in a position to cut excise duty, our hands are tied. The Finance Minister had told that the state and central government will have to find some way together on this.


According to Nirmala Sitharaman, due to oil bonds, there is an additional burden on the exchequer. In the last five years, the government has paid Rs 70,195.72 crore as interest only on oil bonds.
