Before the festive season, HDFC Bank is preparing to enter the market with a new strategy. This information has been given by Shashidhar Jagadishan, CEO of HDFC Bank.

He said that HDFC Bank will soon start offering a mix of existing and new cards to the bank customers. Shashidhar Jagadeesan has said these things to the employees of the bank. Let us tell you that the RBI had banned the issuance of new credit cards of HDFC Bank. Relief has now been given on this ban.

What CEO Said: The CEO of the Bank was informed that in the coming months, we will aggressively market not only with our existing credit cards, but also with other partners. Yes, we have lost customer market share in the last 9-10 months, but I am sure everything will be fine in the times to come. Shashidhar Jagadeesan said that I also know that the restrictions of the last 9-10 months have not been easy for all of you. You guys inspired me. I feel fortunate to be leading the team.

Let us tell you that HDFC Bank has given relief in the restrictions imposed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on the bank for issuing new cards. The RBI had issued orders in December and February prohibiting issuance of new credit cards due to some incidents of disruption in HDFC Bank’s internet banking, mobile banking and payment services in the last two years. “We would like to inform you that the RBI vide a letter dated August 17, 2021, has relaxed the restrictions imposed on issuance of new credit cards,” the bank told the stock exchange.
