CBSE Board Exams 2024: How many marks will be given in which subject, know about the changes for 10th-12th here

CBSE Board Exams 2024: Students who are going to appear in the CBSE board exams for class 10th-12th next year, should know what are the criteria of the marking scheme for class 10th-12th and what will be the marks in the upcoming board exams.


CBSE Board Exams 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct board exams for class 10th and 12th students early next year. While the practical exams for both classes are scheduled to begin from January 1, 2024, the theory exams for both classes will be conducted from February 15, 2024. Class 10th and 12th datesheet has been released on the official website cbse.gov.in. Along with this, students can also download sample papers.

Those who are going to appear in the CBSE board exams for class 10th-12th next year, before the board exams, they should know about the decisions taken by the board this year, so that they can know, the CBSE board exams for the year 2024. What are the big changes going to happen?

Marking Scheme for Theory and Practical Examination

CBSE has released the marking scheme for theory and practical exams for class 10th and 12th board exams. As per the marking scheme, marks will be given out of 100 for theory, practical, project and internal assessment. In which theory paper will be of 80 marks and internal assessment will be of 20 marks. Let us tell you, CBSE has released the marking scheme for 83 subjects for class 10th and 121 subjects for class 12th.

The marks of practical examination for class 10th subjects like Music, Painting, Computer, Retail, Information Technology, Security, Multimedia etc. are 50. Whereas the marks of internal assessment for English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science subjects are 20.

In class 12th, practical marks are 30 for subjects including Geography, Psychology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Physical Education and others. Practice Marks for subjects like Painting, Graphics, Sculpture, Commercial Art, Dance, Home Science is 50. The marking scheme for all subjects has been uploaded on the official website.

Students will not get division or distinction awards

CBSE Board had announced that no merit list of students will be released while declaring the results of class 10th and 12th board examinations. Along with this, the board has decided not to give any division or distinction award to the students. Along with this, the decision to calculate the marks of the students for best five subjects will be entirely decided by the college giving admission.

Board exams can be held twice a year

The central government is planning to conduct board exams twice a year, so that students can get a chance to improve their marks. However, this decision has not been implemented yet.
