Bank Holidays December: Actually, if you find out before leaving the house whether the bank is open or closed, then you will not have any problem. In the month of December, there will be a total holiday of 11 days in the banks of different zones of the country. Let us see the complete list of bank holidays.
11 days holidays include Saturday-Sunday
There are going to be a total of 11 days of holidays in the month of December. These holidays are inclusive of Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Firstly, on the occasion of the festival of St. Francis Xavier in the banks of Panaji Zone on December 3, there will be no work in the banks.
After this, banks of Shimla Zone will remain closed on December 18 on the death anniversary of U Soso Tham. Banks in Aizwal and Shillong zones will remain closed on December 24 on account of Christmas festival or Christmas Eve.
Banks will be closed across the country on the occasion of Christmas
Banks will be closed across the country on December 25 on the occasion of Christmas. Banks of Aizwal Zone will remain closed on December 27 on the occasion of Christmas celebrations. On December 30, on the occasion of Yu Qiang Nangbah, there will be a holiday from work in the banks of Shillong Zone. Whereas on December 31, banks in Aizwal zone will remain closed on the occasion of New Year’s Evening.
Apart from these holidays, banks will remain closed across the country on 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th of December being Sundays. While the second and fourth Saturdays of the month are falling on December 11 and December 25, due to which there will be no work in the bank on that day.
However, now most of the banking related work is done through digital medium. Therefore, even if the bank is closed, you can take advantage of online facilities sitting at home. Just updating KYC for certain tasks like check clearance requires visiting the bank.
