Drivers traveling from one state to another have to pay toll tax. In India, the method of paying toll tax has completely changed in the last few years. Annual Fastag pass has also been implemented in the country from 15 August 2025. Due to which paying toll tax has become even easier. Annual Fastag pass is made for 1 year.
For which 3000 rupees have to be paid. Which is valid for 200 trips or 1 year. Whichever of these is completed first is valid. But people find a flaw in it. It is not valid on all highways and expressways of the country. On which highways and expressways of the country the annual fastag pass will not work. Let us tell you the complete list.
On which highways and expressways will Fastag Annual Pass not be valid?
Fastag Annual Pass will be applicable on selected highways and expressways of the country. You will not get this facility on all highways. If we talk about it, then it will not work on some major expressways and highways of the country including Yamuna Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway and Agra-Lucknow Expressway of Uttar Pradesh.
Similarly, Samruddhi Mahamarg of Maharashtra and Mumbai-Pune Expressway also come in its list. This pass cannot be used on other highways including Atal Setu of Goa because it is also outside the purview of NHAI. All are state highways. Whereas the annual pass is valid only on highways and expressways under the National Highway Authority of India i.e. NHAI.
How will toll be deducted where annual pass will not work?
Now many people have this question in their mind that on those expressways and highways where the annual pass will not work, then how will the toll be paid there. The answer to this is simple, the annual fastag will be linked to your existing fastag account. And where it will not work, money will be deducted from your fastag account at those plazas. So if you are going on a route where there are both state highways and national highways, then make sure that there is balance in your fastag account as well. If you rely only on the pass, then it will become difficult.
