If you want to change the address in Aadhar Card, then you can apply through both offline and online mode.

New Delhi. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) had given the flexibility to change the address without any proof for the convenience of the Aadhaar card holders (Address Update without Proof). The authority tweeted that now this facility has been stopped. UIDAI had tweeted that the Address Validation Letter facility is being closed till further orders. Therefore, now all citizens will have to provide any one document in the list given earlier to get their address changed.

According to UIDAI, the closure of this facility will cause problems for those people who do not have any documents to update the address. Also said that you can update your address in your Aadhar card through both offline and online methods through proof. For online address update, you have to visit the official website of UIDAI at ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/. Let us know how the address can be updated online.

How to apply online
>> Go to UIDAI website and click on ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’.
>> After this enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number. Then enter the security code or captcha code.
>> After this click on the option of ‘Send OTP’.
>> An OTP will be sent to the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar, which is to be entered.
>> After that click on ‘Login’.
>> Your Aadhar details will start appearing on the screen as soon as you login.
>> Change your address in this and upload the scanned copy of any one of the given 32 documents and submit it.

How to Apply Offline
>> Fill the Aadhar Card Update Form by visiting your nearest Aadhar Center.
>> Submit the form and give your biometrics for verification.
>> The employee will give you a receipt, containing an Update Request Number (URN).
>> Aadhaar updation status can be tracked using this URN.
