Updating information in Aadhar card has become easier now. If something goes wrong with your Aadhaar or the mobile number given in your Aadhaar has been changed, you can easily update it by following a few simple steps. Now you can update mobile number in your Aadhar card sitting at home.
Aadhaar card is a very important document in the country and it is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Aadhar card is a 12-digit unique number. It contains all the necessary information like your name, date of birth, Aadhar number, photograph and biometric data. The number is a proof of identity and address of the person anywhere in India. If something goes wrong with your Aadhaar or the mobile number given in your Aadhaar has been changed, you can easily update it by following a few simple steps.
Now you can update mobile number in your Aadhar card sitting at home. Unique Identification Authority of India i.e. UIDAI allows Aadhar cardholders to update their phone number. To update personal details like name, address and date of birth in Aadhaar card, your mobile number must be registered with Aadhaar ID so that OTP (One Time Password) can be sent to that number during the update process. Make sure that the registered number is active and with you.
To update your phone number on the Aadhar card, visit the UIDAI web portal Ask.uidai.gov.in. Add the phone number you want to update. You have to type a captcha for security purposes in the box provided. You have to click on ‘Send OTP’ option and enter the OTP sent to your phone number. Now click on ‘Submit OTP and Proceed’ option.
After this you can see a dropdown menu which notes ‘Online Aadhaar Services’ .
The list shows various other options including name, address, gender, email id, mobile number, and more. Select mobile number to update phone number in Aadhaar. Fill all the required details. After that make sure to select the option ‘What do you want to update’.
