According to media reports, the Modi government at the Center can give great news to the employees. The government is considering increasing their fitment factor. If the fitment factor increases, then the minimum salary of the employees will increase by about Rs 8,000.
Basic salary is now 18 thousand rupees
At present, the central employees get a minimum basic salary of Rs 18,000. While the central employees have been demanding for a long time to increase it. Right now the fitment factor is 2.57, which the employees are demanding from the government to 3.68. If the government accepts this demand, then the minimum basic salary or basic pay of the employees will increase from Rs 18 thousand to Rs 26 thousand.
The fitment factor was increased in 2016
According to media reports, the employee organizations will hold a meeting with the representatives of the government in the matter of fitment factor. It is only after this meeting that there is a possibility that there can be a big increase in the minimum salary. Let us tell you that the last time the fitment factor was increased in 2016. Then the basic salary of the employees was increased from Rs.6 thousand to Rs.18 thousand.
Dearness allowance will also increase
If the fitment factor is increased and the basic pay of the employees is increased from 18 thousand to 26 thousand rupees, then the Dearness Allowance will also increase. At present, Dearness Allowance (DA) is being given equal to 31 percent of the basic pay.
Let us tell you that on the basic pay of 18 thousand, central employees get Rs 46,260 (18,000 X 2.57 = 46,260) according to fitment factor 2.57. If the fitment factor is 3.68, then your salary will be Rs 95,680 (26000X3.68 = 95,680). That is, your salary will increase by more than 49 thousand.
Remember that while determining the salary, apart from the allowances like DA, TA, HRA etc., the basic salary of the employee is calculated by multiplying the fitment factor 2.57.
