The employees who could not claim the Children Education Allowance in 2020 due to the pandemic, now have the last chance. Central employees get the cost of education of children in the form of allowance. However, this claim could not be made due to the closure of the school due to the Kovid epidemic. Central employees get CEA of Rs 2,250 every month as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. For two children it can go up to Rs 4500.

Self declaration will be submitted

DoPT had issued an OM. It was said that due to Corona, central personnel have faced difficulties in claiming Children Education Allowance. Because, even after depositing the fees online, the result/report cards were not sent from the school through SMS/e-mail. DoPT has said that CEA claim can also be claimed through self declaration or print out of result/report card/sms/e-mail of fee payment. However, this facility will be available only for the academic year ending in March 2020 and March 2021.

How much allowance do you get?

Central employees get Children Education Allowance for the education of two children. This allowance is Rs 2250 per month. If there are two children, then the employees get Rs 4500 per month. However, if the second child is twin, then this allowance is also given for the education of twin children along with the first child. According to two academic calendars, a child has to be paid Rs 4500. If an employee has not yet claimed for March 2020 and March 2021, then it can be claimed. In such a situation, 4500 rupees will be added to his salary.

What is CEA’s rule?

Children Education Allowance is only for central employees. For this, school certificate and claim documents have to be attached. In the declaration received from the school, it is written that the child studies in their institution and he is a student or a student. Also, in which academic calendar has he studied? For CEA claim, the child’s report card, self-attested copy and fee receipt are also required to be attached.
