7th Pay Commission 18 Months DA Arrear: The government has issued a big update for the central employees. Also, this update is also about those news, which are spreading confusion about 18 months arrears. The money for DA Arrear of 18 months stuck from the year 2020 will not be available. Three installments of Dearness Allowance i.e. Dearness Allowance (DA), stopped at the time of Covid-19 transition, have been paid.

However, it is not considered to pay any arrears amount for that period. Central employees waiting for 18 months DA arrears have already been informed in this regard. But, they are still getting confused by many news. In such a situation, there is no need to get confused about DA arrears. The government is not considering giving arrears of DA withheld from January 2020 to June 2021.

DA Arrear’s proposal was rejected by the Finance Ministry

18 months dearness allowance arrear will not be given to central employees. This is the DA Arrear payment for that one and a half year, when the dearness allowance was frozen by the government due to the corona virus epidemic (Covid-19 Pandemic). But, the central government has made it clear that there is no thought on giving arrears. The Finance Ministry had also turned down the request of pensioners to release 3 installments of Dearness Relief Arrear, which was stopped during the Kovid-19 pandemic, for immediate relief work.

It is estimated that the total amount of arrears of DR (for pensioners) and dearness allowance (for DA-employees) for central employees was around Rs 34,000 crore. In the 32nd meeting of the Standing Committee on Voluntary Agencies to review pension rules, a representative of the Department of Expenditure (DOI) clarified that the arrears of the previous DA and DR will not be released. Let us tell you, DOI is a branch of the Union Finance Ministry itself.
