IMD Alert: Big news! Weather will change from today, rain alert in 14 states, heatwave warning in 7 states, know here details

There will be a change in the weather once again across the country. At present, there is no hope of getting relief from the heat in North India. At the same time, after June 16, IMD Alert will see a change in the weather once again in North India.



The effect of which will be in the capital Delhi, Haryana, Punjab including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat . In the same mountainous states, changes in the weather will be seen soon. However, an alert of heavy rain continues in the eastern and southern states.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday announced that heavy rain has been predicted over Northeast India, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next few days. Meanwhile, during the next two days, Scorching Sun conditions are very likely to persist at isolated places over Northwest, Central and Neighboring East India. However, soon there will be a change in the weather with thunderstorms in Madhya Pradesh and North India including Delhi.

The progress of Southwest Monsoon appears to have slowed down since its arrival over Kerala coast. At least its Arabian maritime branch is comparable to that of the Bay of Bengal. As of today, the Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) is passing through Karwar, Chikmagalur, Bengaluru, Puducherry and Siliguri.

Heatwave Predictions:

Today, heat wave conditions are expected in Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, West Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. Today and tomorrow, heat wave conditions are likely over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana and East Madhya Pradesh. Similar situation is likely to be seen in Odisha till June 10.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain at isolated places over Goa on Saturday and Sunday. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusting to 40 kmph is also very likely at isolated places from June 8 to 12.

Squally wind speed reaching 60 kmph gusting to 40-50 kmph very likely along South Maharashtra-Goa coast from Friday to Sunday. Fishermen have been advised not to venture out into these areas during this period. On Wednesday, the IMD issued light to moderate rain showers along the coastal areas of the three talukas. According to the IMD, the seasonal rains reached Kerala on May 29 and Karwar on May 31.

On Tuesday afternoon, NLMs were recorded at Karwar, Chikmagalur, Bengaluru, Puducherry and Siliguri after moving further into some more parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal as well as southwest and west-central Bay of Bengal. However, the seasonal rains are weakening in Kerala so far. According to reports, Kerala recorded 62.8 mm of rain in the first six days of June, which is a deficit of 48 per cent. Meteorologists say that due to anticyclone circulation in Maharashtra and weak monsoon currents, its arrival in Goa was also delayed.


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the southwest monsoon rainfall over Kerala over the past few years has displayed a variability that is around 19% of the long period average. However, neither the monthly rainfall nor the seasonal or annual rainfall shows any significant increase/decrease trend in Kerala. However, in recent years, the incidence of extreme rainfall has been increasing significantly in many parts of the country. The southwest monsoon over Kerala has been slow and weak this year, recording a 54% deficit in rainfall in the first 10 days since it was announced on May 29.

The biggest decrease has been reported from Kollam (-64%), Idukki (64%), Palakkad (-80%), Wayanad (-78%), Kannur (-72%) and Kasaragod (-86%). Based on the long-range forecast issued in May, Kerala may receive below normal rainfall. The IMD said that the spatial distribution of the forecast forecast for seasonal rainfall indicates that the extreme southwest peninsula, including Kerala, is likely to receive below normal rainfall.

Rain Prediction:

Extensive light/moderate rainfall with heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura over the next 5 days. Exceptionally heavy rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya on June 10 and 11.

In the next 5 days, scattered/scattered rain/lightning/strong winds very likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. There is a possibility of scattered heavy rains in Bihar today. The Southwest Monsoon had retreated from parts of West Rajasthan and Punjab, which is about 11 days after its normalization.

Light/moderate rain and thundershowers very likely over Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep during next 5 days. There is a possibility of scattered rain over Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana. There is a possibility of scattered heavy rains over Tamil Nadu on 9th, South Interior Karnataka on 12th, Coastal Karnataka on 10-12th and rain alert in Kerala and Mahe on 10th, 11th and 12th June.

Although the seasonal rainfall is still far from the northwest. Currently battling dry, scorching heat. Meteorologists are expecting some relief in the coming days. Meteorologists say the region may receive “some rain” around June 11 and “more substantial rain” around June 15-16. Meanwhile, the IMD said that heatwave conditions would continue at isolated places over northwest, central and adjoining east India for the next two days.
