World’s Powerful Passports: Iran, Malaysia and Thailand recently announced visa free entry for Indian tourists. India was at 84th position in 2023, which has come down to 85th position in 2024.

Indian Passport: India has slipped one place in the list of world’s most powerful passports. According to the recently released Henley Passport Index 2024, India’s latest ranking has become 85. At the same time, France has the strongest passport in the world. Despite the announcement of visa free entry by many countries, the decline in ranking is surprising. Data of 199 passports is collected in this list.

France took the top spot as its passport provides visa-free access to 194 countries. India was at 84th position in 2023. However, compared to last year, this year Indians can travel visa free to five more countries. In 2023, Indians could travel to 57 countries without a visa, while this year this figure has increased to 62.

Iran, Malaysia and Thailand had recently announced visa free entry for Indian tourists.

6 countries have the most powerful passports in the world. These include Japan, Singapore, Spain, France, Italy and Germany. This ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Association. Neighboring country Pakistan has the fourth weakest passport in the world. Pakistan’s passport ranking is 106. Whereas Bangladesh has reached 101 to 102 this year. Whereas Maldives is at 58th place, whose citizens can visit 96 countries without visa.

Improvement in ranking of China and America

Some improvement has been seen in China’s ranking. China was at number 66 in 2023, which has now reached 64th. At the same time, improvement has also been seen in America’s passport ranking. Earlier it was at 7th position. America has now reached 6th place in the Henley Passport Index of 2024. Americans can travel to 189 countries without a visa.
