Freshers of IT sector giant Wipro are facing double problems. First, his package was cut by 46 per cent and now he is facing the threat of being thrown out of the company. The point is that Wipro freshers whose package was increased from Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh are now being asked to give a test.

This is a fresher program Project Readiness Program ( PRP ) and according to the mail sent by the company to these freshers it is very important for them to pass it. If they fail in this test, then they will be shown the way out of the company. Earlier in January, the company terminated more than 450 trainees for failing internal tests.

This is the allegation of IT union

Pune’s IT union has accused Wipro that what the company is doing is completely unethical and unfair and unjust. The union alleges that these candidates have already been a part of Velocity training for four to six months and were promised by the company that no further training will take place after this program.

This was part of increasing the training package from Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 6.5 lakh annually. However, now after reducing the package, the company is also insisting on one more training. Harpreet Saluja, President of Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), says that due to misleading communication and sudden change in policies, the future of the employees is at risk.

What is Wipro’s Project Readiness Program

According to the mail sent to freshers, Talent Transformation has designed this program for employees hired from campus and off-campus. The objective is to equip new employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare them to work on customer projects.

Under this training there will be PRP assessment and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. If they are not successful in getting 60% marks in the supplementary also, then HR will start the process of removing them from the company.
