WHO’s top expert on emergency cases, Dr Mike Ryan, said that South Asia does not have an explosive situation not only in India but also in densely populated Bangladesh and Pakistan. However, he also said that there is always a danger of this happening.

For the first time on Friday, more than 10 thousand new cases were reported in one day while 334 people have died. India has the highest number of new cases a day after Brazil and the United States. With this, the number of infected people in the country has crossed 2.28 lakh, which is just less than Italy. In the last week alone, more than 60 thousand cases have increased. The number of infected in India has increased to 2,26,770 whereas 6,348 people have died so far.
