Jagran Bureau, New Delhi. The central government has also stood up in the help of Bihar’s daughter Jyoti Paswan, who revived the story of Shravan Kumar, who found himself in the service of parents. Jyoti rode her sick father on a bicycle and traveled 1200 kilometers to reach his village in Bihar. Following the insistence of Union Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju assured that Jyoti would be selected as an apprentice at the National Cycling Academy.

Thus, Jyoti’s courage and service at a young age had already won the hearts of the country and the Indian Cycling Federation invited her for a trial. On Sunday, Paswan’s initiative gained momentum. Paswan tweeted urging the Sports Minister to arrange appropriate training and scholarship to further enhance Jyoti’s cycling talent.

2/2 @narendramodi

An immediate reply came from Rijiju. He said that he would get the report after Jyoti’s trial from the Sports Authority. If found feasible, Jyoti will be trained at the Cycling Academy located at the Indira Gandhi Stadium campus. It is said that some financial support was also provided to Jyoti from Paswan’s MP son Chirag Paswan.

Significantly, in lockdown, Jyoti is being discussed a lot at this time to reach Darbhanga (Bihar) from Gurugram, sitting on a bicycle and traveling 1200 km. Jyoti was praised by Ivanka Trump, daughter of US President Donald Trump. Ivanka had tweeted that 15-year-old Jyoti Kumari took her injured father by cycling 1,200 km in seven days to his village. Ivanka further wrote that this heroine of endurance and love has caught the attention of the Indian people and the Cycling Federation of India.
