Weather update: Heavy rain, thunder and hailstorm in this state; Orange alert for next 3 days

Weather update: It rained at many places in Jharkhand in the last 24 hours. An alert has been issued for rain and thundershowers at isolated places in the entire state including the capital for the next three days.

Weather update: Orange alert has been issued for thunderstorm, rain and lightning in Ranchi and some other districts on Monday. Among these, wind can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour in Khunti, Ranchi, Simdega and West Singhbhum. Whereas, rain has been predicted in various parts of the state including Ranchi on March 19 and 20. Mazgaon in West Singhbhum recorded 32.4 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours. Whereas, there was light rain in many other parts of the state including Maithon in Dhanbad, 25 mm, Bokaro 20.6 mm, Ramgarh 13, Ranchi 10.8, Simdega 4.2, Jamshedpur 6.2.

Weather update: Due to rain in the state, the temperature in various districts has come down. The maximum temperature has dropped by two degrees. Ranchi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 30.7 degrees on Sunday. Compared to the last 24 hours, the mercury here came down by two degrees. Whereas, the temperature in Medininagar and Jamshedpur also decreased by one degree. The maximum temperature of Jamshedpur was recorded at 33.3 degrees and that of Medininagar was 33.8 degrees. The minimum temperature in various districts of the state including Ranchi is above normal.

Weather update: According to the Meteorological Department, anti-cyclonic circulation has formed in the central western part of the Bay of Bengal. Due to its effect, moist winds are moving towards Jharkhand. Its effect is expected to last for the next three days.

Rain is expected in most parts of the state on March 19 and 20. Whereas, during the next 24 hours, some districts of the state including Ranchi may receive rain and thundershowers at a speed of 40-50 km per hour. -Abhishek Anand, Scientist, Meteorological Department, Ranchi
