Weather Update: The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert for Delhi-NCR, Punjab, and Haryana. Fog is also expected across large parts of North India. The temperature in Delhi could drop to seven degrees Celsius on Sunday.

Weather Update: All of North India, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, is currently experiencing severe cold. The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert for the northern Indian states. Snowfall is expected in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. The Meteorological Department has predicted a maximum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius in Delhi, while the minimum temperature could drop to 8 degrees.

Dense Fog in Delhi

Dense fog enveloped the capital Delhi and surrounding areas on Saturday morning. Traffic was affected due to low visibility. A cold wave alert has been issued in Punjab and Haryana. Dense fog is expected to continue in Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana on Sunday.

Uttar Pradesh Weather

According to the Meteorological Department, large areas of western Uttar Pradesh will be covered in fog on Sunday. Fog is also possible in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The minimum temperature in Uttar Pradesh is expected to drop to 7 degrees. No rain is forecast. However, icy winds will increase the cold. The Meteorological Department says the cold wave may intensify between December 13th and 14th.

According to the Meteorological Center, Lucknow, dense to very dense fog will persist in the coming days in many parts of the state, especially in the Terai region of Purvanchal and western Uttar Pradesh. In view of this, an orange alert has been issued for the next 2-3 days and a yellow alert for the following 2 days. On Friday, dense fog was recorded in Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Kushinagar, Ballia and Basti, while fog was also recorded in Moradabad and Azamgarh.

Bihar Weather

Westerly winds have intensified the cold in Bihar. There is no sign of any change in temperatures for the next two days. Dense fog is expected in large parts of the state in the evenings and mornings. Snowfall is forecast in the western Himalayan regions. Rain and snowfall are expected in Ladakh between December 13th and 18th. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may experience rain on December 14th.

Cold wave gripped several parts of Odisha with hill resort G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district recording the season’s lowest temperature of 3.1 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday. The cold wave severely affected normal life as at least 15 places in 11 of the 30 districts recorded minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, an official said. Semiliguda, a hill resort in Koraput, Phulbani in Kandhamal district recorded 5.5 degrees Celsius and Daringbadi recorded 6.5 degrees Celsius as the lowest temperatures.
